SnowX Team Members Practice Safety Protocols

Safety Protocols

Safety is our number one priority here at SnowWorX. Our safety standards have been recognized by SIMA who have awarded us with the SIMA Safety Award every year since 2011. One way we ensure our safety protocols are understood by all team members is by having potential snow fighters complete our online training program, which is heavily concentrated on safety. We also enforce safety measures through our annual Snow Boot Camp which immerses our snow fighters in hands-on safety training. Ensuring all team members consistently follow our implemented safety systems help SnowWorX not only keep our team safe, but the public as well.

SnowWorX realizes that it’s important to decipher whether or not the snow contractor you’re thinking of hiring carries snow-specific insurance. It’s also important to note how much coverage they do carry. At SnowWorX, we have made a point to carry a $5 million snow insurance policy to give our clients a sense of safety during the tough winter months. This way, our clients can rest assured that if a snow-related accident, such as a slip and fall, were to occur, they would be covered.

Protecting the environment

SnowWorX carries its safety standards out into the field where we use special pushers and plows to reduce our environmental impact. By partnering up with Metal Pless, a world-leading manufacturer of snow plows and snow blades, we have been able to incorporate their Live Edge plows into our fleet. This advanced technology allows the plow edge to scrape closer to the road’s surface by following the imperfections of the road, allowing us to almost reach bare pavement.

These tools help us to reduce our salt usage by 50% which not only preserves the surrounding environment, but reduces costs to clients, as well. The less snow there is on the roads, the fewer snow-related accidents that will occur creating a safer winter environment for the entire community to enjoy.
